Summer time can present some special challenges on our road to health. A little new found freedom in our schedule can give way to chaos and haphazard judgements pretty quickly that can throw us off balance. Eating at restaurants can be a minefield of fat, salt and sugar that we have to navigate or suffer the consequences. Long hours traveling either on the road or in the air with limited access to food when we want it sometimes has us storing up like a bear heading into winter  – just in case. It is berry season and this is a great time to enjoy all the natural goodness packed in such a tiny sweet package. Berries just might be the sweetest little superfood ever. Don’t let their small size and sweet nature fool you though.

The blueberry in particular has more antioxidants than any other fruit or vegetable for its size! One serving of blueberries has the same amount of antioxidants as five servings of broccoli. Amazing!

As I prepare for my presentation in Miami, Florida on time management I am struck by how similar the process of time management and weight loss (waist management) are. Both are a lot easier once you make  a commitment to it and get started.

There is more than one right way of accomplishing your goal and the best way for you fits with your natural tendencies and personal likes. I have been wondering how to best utilize my blog. I want to pass along useful and inspiring information. Daily if not hourly I have things that I would like to share. Being rather organized usually in my approach, the haphazard way in which I have been inspired has led me to not post at all because the ideas are so random.

Today however, I have decided to surrender to the randomness of creativity and post these tidbits as they come. Deepak Chopra has been a huge inspiration and really has saved my life.

Off and Running


Well I am back at fall boot camp and I LOVE it!

Feel like I am dusting out the cobwebs of my body. It certainly gets me up early ( about 5:10 a.m.) as we start running at 5:30 – 6:30 a.m. Something very special and calm about this time of the morning.
