You know how much I love to help people to healthy weight loss and happiness. Many of you know from this blog the amazing healing properties of superfoods and that superfoods were how I lost my 30 lbs 7 years ago and led me to write my book Doctor Up The Recipe about superfoods. As a busy mom of 4 and doctor, I need quick and easy solutions but I won’t compromise on health. Well, I have recently tried after much skepticism and much research, a new amazing system that allows you to enjoy quick and easy superfoods everyday AND lose weight and detox in a healthy natural way without diuretics, stimulants, laxatives, etc. This is a proven formula for success that has been replicated thousands of times. Still I let my own body decide.
I have lost 7 lbs in 9 days!
Not only that I lost 1/4 in. of my chest, 2 in. off my waist and an amazing 3 in. off my ” perimenopausal, post 4 children” belly!! I even lost an inch off the fat above each knee!! – in 9 days!!
But more importantly I have gained clarity and energy without any caffeine. I am a better mom this week. Even with back to school chaos, working and all of the fall startups, I have energy and clear thinking and I feel amazing! This is how I felt 7 years ago and I wanted everyone to be able to experience this feeling and now you can. Now people in my immediate circle have begun to be transformed and I felt I owed it to you to present the opportunity for you to decide for yourself.

Travel season can defintiely present some special challenges on our road to health. Long ago my family abandoned our roads trips of coke and chips, ” filling up ” at the gas stations along the way and we now have ways to bring and make our food and “be prepared” for those times when hunger hits on the road (or in the air).
A little new found freedom in our schedule can give way to chaos and haphazard judgements, grabbing quick convenience foods laden with salt, sugar and fat and then of course, there is the alcohol that often accompanies many vacations. All of this can really throw us off balance resulting easily in a 5 – 10 lb weight gain that tends to accumulate over the years, compounding faster than interest on your credit card. But do not despair, with just a little planning and forethought and some really simple tips, we can navigate around those landmines and stay on the slim and narrow this travel season. Here are some quick travel tips that you can pack with you. Ifyou are unable to play the video, visit www.canadianhealthcoach.com and it should display from there.
1. Bring water in refillable water bottles with you on your journey or purchase water right after security in the airports. An abundance of air travel recently has proven to me how dehydrating air travel can be. This crowds out an overindulgence in sugary and alcoholic drinks.
2.Bring unsweetened, unsalted trail mix, almonds or other nuts. They can satisfy your hunger in a healthy way. Great for times when you get to your destination after all options for food have closed or you find yourself in the middle of nowhere.
3. Bring tea bags. You are just a cup of boiling water away from a nice cup of tea.
4. Bring oatmeal. 1/3 cup of rolled oats and 1/2 cup water in the microwave for 1 min20 sec or better yet use boiling water and cover in a bowl for 5 minutes and top with your favorites. Great if you find yourself after many flights in unfamiliar surroundings and with no restaurants available. Starbucks and Tim Horton’s have oatmeal now making a quick meal even if you only have 5 minutes before your flight boards.
5. Bring small dark chocolate squares. Satisfy your need for sweet and help avoid overindulgence with a dose of healthy antioxidants.
6. Bring fruit . Apples are a high fiber, low fat snack that packs well and can withstand travel more than some other fruits.
7. Visit the grocery stores and farmer’s markets along your journey. Enjoy the fresh, local wholesome goodness.
8. Walk – around the hotel, airport, malls. Use fitness facilities at hotels. Use the stairs.
9. Bring resistance bands. They pack light and allow you to customize the resistance to your own strength. I could do a quick demo dependig on time.
10. Take a hike! Take an active holiday and go for walks, golf, cycle, swim or whatever else gets you going and have fun.
Have a safe, active, happy and healthy travel season and
Be Good For YOU!!

Have you ever stopped to consider where sugar is sneaking into your diet? When I do a sugar talk which is more of a shock and awe campaign, people are stunned to learn about sugar’s hiding places – low fat foods, pasta sauces, medications, “healthy” sounding drinks. In fact I believe we are drinking more sugar than we realize. Some of the popular coffee drinks have up to 3/4 cup of sugar in one large drink and as many calories as a Big Mac!! Drinks are guzzled so fast before you even know it. Today people are particularly vulnerable with easy access to extra large servings as part of their daily habit while studying or at “coffee” breaks or as a quick “pick me up” – what a let down!
I came across another great video about this and I wanted to post it. Let me know what you think.
You were fantastic and inspirational. I’m really, really happy that you were willing and eager to pull together such an amazing speech in a very short period of time. Much appreciation! The class, as I’m sure you know, really loved you.
Warmly,
